At Divers Equipment and Repair Service, our team of instructors is led by Alan Shaw, who combines his love of diving with his expertise in repairing equipment as the Owner and Operator since 2013. Alan’s goals include becoming an Advanced Openwater Instructor and Extended Range Instructor, expanding classes, and growing the diving family. Christopher May, with over four decades of diving experience, specializes in teaching courses such as Perfect Buoyancy and Navigation. As a Certified Aqua Lung technician, Chris also excels in equipment repair. Randy Shepard, a passionate scuba diver since 2003, offers training to both beginners through Try Scuba and experienced divers through the Refresher course. With backgrounds ranging from electrical work to financial planning, our instructors bring their unique expertise and love for educating and empowering others to the world of diving.

Christopher May has been diving since 1977. His fascination with the ocean goes back to summers in San Diego as a child.
Randy Shepard has been diving since 2003. His fascination began while snorkeling the crystal waters of Cancun.
